Sri Lanka was ruled by kings but the protagonist is this story is a licentious emperor. On a sudden impulse, he leaves the palace and gets beaten by a villager. He meets a girl who has the plague, she directs him to a native medical practitioner. He then meets the rebel who is leading a rebellion against the emperor. The medical practitioner is killed by as a traitor for treating the rebel by the emperor's soldiers. Can he bring balance in the community?
