Best known for portraying the character of Petyr Baelish in the fantasy drama series Game of Thrones (2011-), Irish actor Aidan Gillen film career spans well over three decades. He made his feature film debut with a minor role in the drama The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne (1987), and subsequently rose to prominence courtesy of his performances in movies like Circle of Friends (1995), Some Mother's Son (1996), Buddy Boy (1999) and Shanghai Knights (2003).

Parallel to his film career, Gillen also made his mark on television during this period, through shows like Queer as Folk (2000-05), The Wire (2002-08) and Love/Hate (2010-14).
