Alexandra Shipp's short but impressive list of acting credits feature movies like Straight Outta Compton (2015) and X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), the latter of which had her essaying the younger version of superhero Storm (originally played by Halle Berry). The young actress made her feature film debut with a minor role in the live-action musical family comedy Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel (2009), which was followed by a successful stint on television.

Her work in shows like House of Anubis (2011-2013) and Days of Our Lives earned Shipp much praise, and she eventually got her big break when she portrayed Kimberly Woodruff in the 2015 biographical film Straight Outta Compton. The horror comedy Tragedy Girls (2017), the romantic comedy-drama Love, Simon (2018) and the superhero film X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2018) are among Shipp's recent acting credits.
