In the course of an illustrious career spanning over four decades, actor Buddhadasa Withanachchi has immortalised several characters in Sri Lankan cinema. He debuted in 1978 with the epic biographical drama Veera Puran Appu, and has since appeared in leading and supporting roles in several feature films. Notable acting credits include the drama film Anantha Rathriya (1996), Sudu Kaluwara (2003), the epic historical drama Maharaja Gemunu (2015), Premaya Nam (2017) and the biographical drama Nidahase Piya DS (2018).
