A big fan of horror movies from a younger age, Corin Hardy is an award-winning English filmmaker, illustrator, sculptor and writer. Hardy studied theatre design at the Wimbledon School of Art and subsequently made a stop-motion short film 'Butterfly' (2004), which premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival and won the Brussels Animation Festival for Best Long Animated Short.

He dabbled in music videos for a short period of time before he made his feature film debut with a fairy-tale horror film The Hallow in 2015. The intense film was premiered at the Sundance film festival and won many international accolades for direction, cinematography and effects. The Nun (2018) is Hardy's second venture into the horror genre as a director.
