Daniel Csar Martn Brhl Gonzlez is an European actor known for his work in movies like Rush (2013) and Captain America: Civil War (2016). Born to German Brazilian film and TV director Hanno Brhl, Daniel Brhl made his acting debut in Verbotene Liebe (19952015) at the age of 17. Brhl was first noticed worldwide in the 2003 movie Good Bye, Lenin!, where he played Alex. The movie won him the European Film Award for Best Actor and the German Film Award for Best Actor. He was then seen in movies like Ladies in Lavender (2004) where he starred alongside legendary actors like Judi Dench and Maggie Smith; The Edukators (2004) and the World War I musical drama, Joyeux Noel (2005). In 2007 Brhl had a brief role in The Bourne Ultimatum. He gained a lot of traction for playing Fredrick Zoller in Quentin Tarantinos Inglourious Basterds (2009). One of Brhls best known roles came in the movie Rush (2013). The movie directed by Ron Howard had him play Niki Lauda, while Chris Hemsworth played James Hunt. Brhls portrayal of Lauda won him a nomination for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture at the Golden Globes 2014. He has also acted in Bill Condons The Fifth Estate (2013) and Anton Corbijns A Most Wanted Man (2014). Brhl became a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe when he played the antagonist, Helmut Zemo, in Captain America: Civil War (2016). He has starred in Niki Caros The Zookeeper's Wife (2017). Apart from Brhl the movie also stars Jessica Chastain and Johan Heldenbergh. His upcoming projects include the TV series The Alienist (2017 ), the next movie in the Cloverfield anthology Cloverfield Movie (2017), My Zoe (2018) and Entebbe (2018).
