A popular Canadian actress, Katheryn Winnick is best known for her roles in Amusement (2008) and A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III (2012). The actress who has a Ukrainian descent did not speak English until she was eight-years-old. Trained in martial arts, Winnick got her first black belt at the age of 13 and by the time she was 21-years-old, she had already started three martial arts school. Having started her career as an actress with the TV series PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal (1999), Winnick subsequently starred in many series including Student Bodies (1999), Relic Hunter (2000), Oz (2003), CSI: Miami (2004), Law & Order (2008), Nikita (2011), Vikings (2013), which won her nominations at the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and Golden Maple Award for Best Actress in a TV Series Broadcast in the U.S. Whilst she was already emerging as an accomplished actress in the TV industry, Winnick made her acting debut on the silver screen with Biohazardous (2001). Her other notable film credits include What Alice Found (2003), Failure to Launch (2006), Radio Free Albemuth (2010), The Art of the Steal (2013) and The Dark Tower (2017), an American science fiction wester action horror film directed by Nikolaj Arcel.
