Ludi Lin

Ludi Lin is a Chinese-Canadian actor and martial arts expert who is best known for his playing the role of Zack, the Black Ranger in the 2017 American Superhero film Power Rangers.

EARLY LIFE
Born in Fuzhou, China, Ludi went to study in Australia and spent most of his youth there. In his final year of high school, Ludi moved to Canada and completed his graduation in Theater Performance from the University of British Columbia. Lin later went to Los Angeles to study Film and TV acting as well as earned a bachelor's degree in Dietetics. Apart from the varied academic learning, Lin is also proficient in martial arts; he went to Thailand to learn Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, and Olympic style Wrestling.

MOVIE CAREER
After having appeared in four short films between 2011 and 2012, the actor his major breakthrough in 2012 as he starred in the American drama TV film Holiday Spin directed by Jonathan A. Rosenbaum. In 2014, the actor played a small role in the Chinese-Hong Kong 3D fantasy action comedy film Monster Hunt directed by Raman Hui. The film, which initially released in China and South-east Asian countries like Malaysia, Singapore and Korea got positive critical response and emerged to be a huge commercial hit. His 2017 release includes Power Rangers, the American superhero film, which was based on the TV series of the same name. The film co-starring Dacre Montgomoery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler and Becky G premiered at the Regency Village Theater in Los Angeles and upon its theatrical release in the US, it garnered mixed critical reviews.

TV CAREER
Apart from films, the actor has also starred in a TV series; his maiden TV appearance includes Marco Polo (2014). The American drama web series, which is inspired by Marco Polo's early days during the Mongol Empire was met with negative reviews from the critics. He also portrayed the underwater warrior Murk in Aquaman (2018) and Lance in a 2019 episode of the Netflix series Black Mirror. He then played Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat (2021).
