BIOGRAPHY

Mae Margaret Whitman is an American voice artist and actress, notably known for her television roles. Whitman first appeared in a Tyson Chicken commercial at the age of 3. Her first role was as the President's daughter in Independence Day (1996). She then appeared in The Gingerbread Man (1998), Jingle Bells(1999) and An American Rhapsody (2001), for which she won a Best Artist Award for Best Ensemble in a feature film. She lent her voice for Shanti in Jungle Book 2 (2003), and appeared in CSI (2004). Whitman's other serials include Arrested Development, Grey's Anatomy (2007), Family Guy (2008-present) and American Dad (2013-2014). She had a brief appearance in the critical success, Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), winning her a San Diego Film Critics Society Award for Best Performance. Her upcoming film is The Duff , which is slated to release in June 2015.
