BIOGRAPHY

Preity Zinta is an Indian actress who made her acting debut with a small role in the movie Dil Se in 1998. The then 23-year-old actress charmed the audience with her bubbly personality and went on to grab her first Filmfare Award, for Best Female Debut, for her role in Soldier. Preity has since then established herself as a top actress and has delivered several stellar performances. Apart from wooing her fans by her peppy screen presence, the actress is also a social activist, a stage performer, and a television presenter.

1.Preity Zintas role in Kal Ho Na Ho was initially offered to Kareena Kapoor Khan. Karan Johar had written the role specifically for Kareena, however, after she quoted an exorbitant fee, the role was offered to Preity.
2.Preity Zinta was cast in Shekhar Kapurs shelved film Mantra (2004) which was supposed to be directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.
3.Preity Zinta was supposed to make her debut in a Shekhar Kapur film, Tara Rum Pum Pum, opposite Hrithik Roshan. However, the film got shelved.
4.Preity Zinta narrowly escaped death twice in the year 2004; once after an explosion at a concert in Sri Lanka, and the second time during the Indian Ocean Tsunami.
