She is one of the most celebrated playback singers in the country with numerous evergreen classics (from films) across all major Indian languages to her credit, and has carved a niche for herself in the music world. 'Shiva Shiva Ennada Naalige Yeke' from the Kannada movie Hemavathi (1977), 'Mizhiyoram' from the Malayalam movie Manjil Virinja Pookkal (1980), 'Thumbi Va Thumbakkudathin' from Olangal (1982), 'Baala Kanakamaya' from the Telugu film Sagara Sangamam (1983) are a few among the many memorable songs crooned by this gifted singer over the years.
