Saiwyn Quadras is an Indian screenwriter who is best known for films like Mary Kom (2014) and Neerja (2016). Both these films were critically acclaimed and had a good run at the box-office. After completing his diploma in event management, he joined an event company run by popular Bollywood director Omung Kumar. After that, he shifted to Zee Music. But destiny had some other plans for Saiwyn. He was again approached by Omung and this time it was for writing a film script. Saiwyn started working on the biopic of Mary Kom in 2011 and in 2012 she won an Olympic medal. This gave a huge mileage to the project and it was evident from the overwhelming response received by the film upon its release.
He made his sophomore outing with Neerja which turned out to be a bigger success than Mary Kom. The film won several awards, including six Filmfare Awards and two National Film Awards. After writing back-to-back women-centric films, many in the industry had an assumption that Saiwyn will write only female-centered biopics, but his 2018 movie Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran cleared all such assumptions. The film was based on the nuclear tests conducted in Pokhran in 1998 with John Abraham and Diana Penty featuring in the lead roles.
