BIOGRAPHY

Saurabh Shukla is a National Award winning Indian actor, screenwriter and director known for his work in films, theatre and television. He made his feature film debut with Shekhar Kapurs Bandit Queen (1994), and subsequently went on to establish himself as a popular character actor through films like Satya (1998), Hey Ram (2000), Slumdog Millionaire (2008), Barfi! (2012) and Jolly LLB (2013) and PK (2014). For his performance in Jolly LLB, Saurabh won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2013. Notable writing credits include Satya (1998), Calcutta Mail (2003), Mumbai Express (2005), Mithya (2008), Utt Pataang (2011) and Fatso (2012). Notable directorial credits include Chehraa (2005), Raat Gayi Baat Gayi? (2009) and Pappu Cant Dance Saala (2011). He is associated with 2017 movie The Wishing Tree alongside Shabana Azmi and Makrand Deshpande directed by Manika Sharma .
