Sunil Edmund Hettiarachchi was one of the most prominent Sri Lankan comedians and character actors who worked in the Sri Lankan film industry for more than two decades. Beginning his career with the movie Kadawunu Poronduwa (1982), he subsequently achieved fame for his comic roles. Hettiarachchis skinny frame and bald appearance with a full beard have become iconic in Sri Lankan cinema.

The actor appeared in more than 50 films throughout his career including movies such as Viragya, Kulageya (1992), Mee Haraka (1994), Me Mage Sandai (2001), Aladinge Waldin (1004), Rana Hansi (2006), and Machan (2008). Hettiarachchis last movie appearance came with Srilal Priyadevas Mago Digo Dai (2010).

The veteran actor was suffering from Parkinsons Disease for a long period of time and passed away on 3rd December 2015.
