Thomas Cruise, or as he is known all over the world as, Tom Cruise, is one of the most popular film stars in the world. A prolific actor and producer, Cruise has been a recurrent recipient of the prestigious Golden Globe Awards for his stellar roles in films like Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Jerry Maguire (1996), and Magnolia (1999). He is a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and boasts of having a fan following of millions across the globe. The swashbuckling actor started his acting career at the age of about 19, in a small role in Endless Love (1981), before his big break as Joel Goodson in the 1983 film, Risky Business. Apart from his acting career, Cruise has been actively involved in various philanthropic works and he is noted for promoting Scientology as a religion in Europe.
