BIOGRAPHY

Waheeda Rehman is an Indian actress. She is cited to be one of the most beautiful actresses. Her debut film was Rojulu Marayi (1955). Waheeda appeared in Pyaasa (1957), Solva Saal (1958), Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959) and Ek Phool Char Kaante (1960). She starred in Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam (1962), Mujhe Jeene Do (1963) and Kohra (1964). She won a Filmfare Award for Best Actress for the film Guide (1966). Waheeda garnered immense appreciation for films like Ram Aur Shyam (1967), Khamoshi (1969) and Prem Pujari (1970). She won a National Film Award for Best Actress for the film Reshma Aur Shera (1971). Waheeda received critical acclaim for her roles in hit films like Phagun (1973), Kabhi Kabhie (1976), Trishul (1978) and Jwalamukhi (1980). Some of her most notable works include Namak Halaal (1982), Himmatwala (1983), Coolie (1983) and Mashaal (1984). Waheeda's talent shone in Singhasan (1986), Chandni (1989), Lamhe (1991) and Om Jai Jagadish (2002). She was lauded by the masses for films like 15 Park Avenue (2005), Rang De Basanti (2006), Delhi 6 (2009) and Arshinagar (2015). Waheeda has also been awarded with Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan.
