One of the most famous video game franchises, Assassin's Creed, comes alive on the big screen this December! The film is the first feature-length venture for Ubisoft Motion Pictures, a new venture spawned by the game developer. If reports are to be believed, the movie is not just a spin-off from the game, but has continuity with the video game. The movie is all set to hit the theatres on December 30th. Most likely, you must have heard of this famous video game franchise and this upcoming Hollywood Action movie based on this game franchise; if not, here's everything you need to know about the Assassin's Creed movie:
1. The Cast and Crew
The movie stars two Oscar-nominated actors, Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. The cast also includes actors like Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Michael K. Williams, and The Lobster’s Ariane Labed. The director is Justin Kurzel, famous for his critically-acclaimed Shakespeare adaptation, Macbeth.
2. The Plot
Michael Fassbender plays an all new historical assassin character, Aguilar, to be based in 15th century Spain, at the time of the Inquisition. He also plays the modern day descendant of the assassin clan, Callum Lynch, who must sift through his ancestors' memories and inherit their abilities. Just like the game. He takes on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.

Just few days ago, the Assassin's Creed trailer got released and it created the buzz that was it expected to create amongst the fans. 4. The Elements of Game You Will See in Movie
The Assassin's Creed universe is very vast. The important aspect of the game which you will see incorporated in the film are “Pieces of Eden”, that has the power to control the mind and actions of an individual, the “Animus”, a device that holds DNA – not just individual’s genetic data, but also the memories of one’s ancestor and "Eagle Vision": an ability that allows one to see the world in a blue-and- white, detective-like way that highlights things like bad guys behind walls and all-important footprints on the ground.
