Assassin's Creed – It's Better To Play the Video Game Than Watching It On Screen!

Assassin's Creed – It's Better To Play the Video Game Than Watching It On Screen!

We have seen so many video games being adapted for screen and every time it turned out to be disappointing. Assassin's Creed was expected to break this jinx, but this movie also turned out to be disastrous. An amazing star cast, lead by Michael Fassbender, also didn't save the movie from bombing at the box office. Assassin's Creed movie was supposed to be the most ambitious project of director Justin Kurzel, famous for his critically-acclaimed Shakespeare adaptation, Macbeth, and it took him nine years to conceive and film this action movie. This Hollywood film is perhaps the most well-cast video-game movie ever. Unfortunately, the script, performances, or dialogues cannot keep pace.

The movie strictly adheres to the video game, so if you have not played or read about it on the internet, then you will find yourself in an unknown territory. For those who are unaware of Assassin's lore, there are two central elements of the game – the Assassins and the Templars. Assassins are the good guys and Templars the bad ones. In the film, Calum Lynch, played by Michael Fassbender, is a direct descendant of an assassin who is on a mission to procure an ancient artifact known as the Apple Of Eden, which contains the technology to control free will. The Templars are also in search of this object, but to destroy the world. How Calum defeats the Templars to save the world is what Assassin's Creed is all about. One thing that will bind you throughout the movie is the glorious action sequences featuring the stellar star cast, lead by Michael Fassbender.

Fassbender was awesome in this new hollywood movie based on a highly popular video game, but even his presence can’t save the movie from being doomed at the box office. The fighting scenes were impressive, but the dialogues and screenplay lack the depth of an intense action drama. Most of the movie reviews pouring in for Assassin's Creed are not that great. The movie fails to live up to the expectations of the video game, which is one of the most played and loved video games of the era.

If you are a big fan of the Assassin's Creed game series, then watch the movie just for the superb action sequences featuring Fassbender.
