John Abraham reprises his role of ACP Yashvardhan in the sequel of Abhinav Deo's 2011 spy thriller, Force. In this action-packed spy thriller, Abhinav Deo gives us a glimpse into the world of RAW agents on foreign land. Following a very predictable plot, Force 2 starring John Abraham and Sonakshi Sinha, which released last Friday, has received mixed reviews from the critics and masses alike.

Just like any other Hindi Action Movie. Force 2 also has a textbook thriller plot to offer. A RAW agent, Yashvardhan, played by John Abraham, who has no interest in following the protocols, is given the task to track down the killer of his friend, an another RAW agent. But he is not alone in this case as his boss RAW officer, KK Kamaljit Kaur (Sonakshi Sinha) aka KK accompanies him. This task takes them to the picturesque Budapest. Here, they are up against an international syndicate run by Shiv Sharma, played brilliantly by Mardaani fame, Tahir Raj Bhasin. Shiv Sharma is a low-level employee of the Indian Embassy of Budapest who hands out details of undercover RAW agents like pamphlets on a street corner. He looks like a regular guy, but deep beneath he is a highly motivated criminal. How these two RAW agent get hold of this international criminal forms the crux of Force 2.

Though this Bollywood movie follows a very familiar storyline, it is adequately laced with twists and turns by director, Abhinav Deo. John Abraham does exactly what is expected from him. In most of the scenes his fists do much of the talking, giving him very few dialogues to deliver. He is intense and impressive in his action sequences. Sonakshi Sinha however, is a disappointment as a RAW officer in Force 2. The makers wanted to cash-in on her Akira characterisation, but she fails to impress in this one. In fact she is one of the worst-trained RAW agents, without an iota of intuition who has to be told to do everything.

One guy who stands out in this cast is the bad man, Tahir Raj Bhasin. He literally eats the scenery every time he is on the screen! If he impressed in Mardaani, consider Force 2 as an encore. He doesn’t play the regular gun wielding beefed-up antagonist in this one, but his prudently nuanced performance as a disturbed character makes it one of the well-defined and charismatic character of the film.

If you love action and John Abraham, then you need no more reasons to watch Force 2. For the rest, watch this spy thriller for the baddie, Tahir Raj Bhasin. We bet you will be his fan!
