“Yahi Hai Mauke Ki Dastak”, this is how the very famous singing reality show of the country, Indian Idol is back! The show has a history of giving our film industry some of its most gifted singers. It is one of the first reality shows of Indian television that got so much of popularity and success. Telly buffs have been waiting for the comeback of this show with bated breath. Now that the show has returned for its seventh season, here we share with you all we know about this all-new season of Indian Idol.

1. The Original Judges are back!
Yes! They are finally back. The makers have probably realised that none of the seasons have been as successful as the first one, so in an attempt to re-create the same magic they have roped in the original judges of the show, Sonu Nigam, Anu Malik and Farah Khan. While Anu Malik was the part of the show in most of the seasons, Farah and Sonu are making a comeback after almost a decade. Let's hope they will manage to bring back a lot of nostalgia from season one in 2004.

2. Unlike Judges, we will have a new host this season!
Popular TV actor, Karan Wahi will host the show along with super dancer host Paritosh Tripathi. He is the fresh edition to the show. The first and the most successful season of the show was hosted by Aman Verma and Mini Mathur.

3. Show Format will be the same!
The show format will remain the same with new participating singers of course. The show doesn't promise a new packaging though, rather it will rely on tried and tested formulae from the first season. Unlike other reality shows, the makers claim, they will not follow any script. It will be completely spontaneous and unscripted.

4. About Auditions
The auditions of Indian Idol season 7 has already been started from the first week of October and will go till the end of November. The judges are moving between the cities for shoot.

Sonu Nigam announced the new season by tweeting, “Aa raha hai #IndianIdol aapka hunar taraashne, kyun ki hunar ko chahiye sirf ek mauke ki dastak. The teaser of the seventh instalment of Indian Idol featuring him is being aired on TV. The date is not yet announced, but the show will be premièred soon on Sony TV.
