Dasun Pathirana

Dasun Pathirana is a Sri Lankan actor who began his career in 2002 at the age of 17. Dasun went on to star in several Sri Lankan teledramas and won the Best Upcoming Actor Award for his performance on the teledrama Ahasin Watuna. The actor has appeared in several movies including Pini Bindu, Mega, Burning Birds, and Nino Live.

In 2014. Dasun received critical acclaim for his performance in the movie Firangipaani, a romantic drama based on homosexuality directed Visakesa Chandrasekaram. Considered as a path-breaking film in Sri Lankan cinema, Firangipaani was screened at the ninth Annual Seattle South Asian Film Festival and the BFI Flare LGBT Film Festival. In the following year, he essayed the titular character in the movie Motor Bicycle, a romantic action drama directed by Shameera Rangana Naotunna. The movie won the Best Direction and Best Film Award at the 2015 SAARC Film Festival.
