Director Sanjeewa Pushpakumara's Davena Vihagun (Burning Birds) is the story of Kusul (Anoma Janadari), a woman whose life turns upside down after the arrest and murder of her husband by a local militia that accused him of subversive activities. Kusul now, has to support her eight children and her unsympathetic mother-in-law on her own.
