Featuring 20 teams, the exciting format ensures that every team gets ample opportunity to compete and keeps fans on the edge of their seats. Batting icon Rohit Sharma, who captained India to glory at ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2024, has been named the tournament ambassador for the 2026 edition.The tournament begins with a group stage, where teams are divided into four groups and each team plays four matches. The top two teams from each group advance to the Super Eight stage, divided into two groups of four. Points reset at this stage, giving every team a fresh shot at glory. The top two teams from each Super Eight group move on to the knockouts, culminating in the semi-finals and the final.Matches will be played across eight venues: five in India -- Narendra Modi Stadium (Ahmedabad), MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chennai), Arun Jaitley Stadium (New Delhi), Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai) and Eden Gardens (Kolkata), and three in Sri Lanka -- R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo), Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground (Colombo) and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium (Kandy) – and three in Sri Lanka -- R.
