Ananth Mahadevan is a screenwriter, actor and director in the Indian film and television industry. He began his career with roles in television series like Khandaan (1985) and Mahanagar (1988) and has been an integral part of the Indian television circuit since. Apart from television, he has starred in Hindi movies since the 1980's. His filmography is inclusive of the films Khiladi (1992), Baazigar (1993), Gaddaar (1995), Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha (1998), Baadshah (1999) and Papanasam (2015), to name a few. He also actively participates in professional English and Hindi theater. Ananth along with Sanjay Pawar received the National Award for Best Screenplay and Dialogues for the Marathi film Mee Sindhutai Sapkal (2010). The film also fetched him the Special Jury Award at the National Film awards. His 2017 release includes the Hindi comedy film Kaccha Limboo. Directed by Sagar Ballary, the movie stars Vinay Pathak, Sarika, and Atul Kulkarni in the lead.
