Born on 1st May 1988, Anushka Sharma is a Bollywood actress, model, and producer. She was first seen on the silver screen in Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi opposite Shah Rukh Khan in 2008. Post that, she acted in many movies like Band Baja Baraat, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and PK, making her one of the most popular actresses in India. In 2015, she collaborated with her brother Karnesh Sharma and co-produced NH10, under the banner of her production company Clean Slate Films. Apart from acting, Sharma also supports a number of social causes including 'Right to Education' for children, and animal rights.

Anushka Sharma was born in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh to Colonel Ajay Kumar Sharma, an army officer, and Ashima Sharma, a housewife. She also has an elder brother Karnesh Sharma who was a state-level cricketer and is now in the merchant navy. Raised in Bangalore, she did her schooling at the Army School and later graduated from Mount Carmel College with a degree in Arts. The actor initially wanted to pursue a career in journalism or modeling. She was groomed by style consultant Prasad Bidapa when she enrolled to become a model at Elite Model Management. One day, while she was shopping at a mall in Bangalore, designer Wendell Rodricks spotted her and roped her in as a model for his 2007 Lakme Fashion Week. After that, Sharma shifted to Mumbai to make it big in the world of glamor.

Anushka Sharma was rumored to be in a relationship with the then newcomer Ranveer Singh, after the two worked together in Band Baaja Baaraat and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. However, Sharma maintained a firm silence on such rumors. Years after, the rumors died out and she was soon reported to be dating popular Indian cricketer Virat Kohli. Despite being questioned innumerable times about her equation with the cricket sensation, she has neither accepted nor denied to being in a relationship with him.
