Early Life
Born in Los Angeles, California to a former bank employee, Dru Ann and a businessman Michael Armand Hammer, Armie Hammer also has a younger brother, Viktor. Hammer belongs to an illustrious family, with his grandfather being the founder of the Communist Part in New York. His paternal great-grandfather was the oil mogul Armand Hammer and paternal great-grandmother was the Russian-born actress Olga Vadimovna Vadina.
He studied at the Los Angeles Baptist High School in the San Fernando Valley, but quit before he could complete his schooling, to pursue the dream of making it big in the world of cinema. His decision to leave his education mid-way didnt go down too well with his parents, who for a while, disowned Hammer, but later reconciled.

After appearing in small roles in Michael Mayers Flicka (2006) and Rigoberto Castaedas Blackout (2008), Hammers first lead role came with the American biographical film Billy: The Early Years (2008), where he essayed the role of the famed missionary, Billy Graham. Directed by Robby Benson, the movie tanked at the box office, both critically and commercially. In the subsequent year, Hammer had two releases-first was the comedy film Spring Breakdown, which was a huge flop and the second was short sci-fi film 2081, which received critical acclaim at the Seattle International Film Festival.
In 2010, Hammer starred in his career-defining role in the drama film The Social Network.
