Having made his debut at the age of 17, Bandu Samarasinghe is a Sinhalese actor, who is known for his comedic roles. In a career spanning slightly over four decades, Samarasinghe has about 85 movies to his credit, playing comedic roles in almost all of them. Making his acting debut in 1973, Samarasinghe was seen in the movie Sadahatama Oba Mage, following which he featured in a number of movies, the notable ones of which are Rodaya(1995), which he directed and produced, Pemmal Mala(1998), Somy Boys (2002), Left Right Sir (2004), and Peeter One (2013). He is also very well-known for his association the Re Daniel Dawal Migel and Cheerio film series. The actor has also directed movies and has movies like Left Right Sir and Peter One to his directorial credit.
