Bruce Willis, an American actor, producer and singer was born in Idar-Oberstein, Germany. His father David Willis, was a soldier in the U.S. Army and his mother Marlene , was of German descent. He was the oldest of four children and had the lions share of all the responsibilities. After his father was discharged from the military, the family moved to Carneys Point, New Jersey in 1957. His father David, could barely make ends meet and worked as welder and later as a factory employee. Bruce's mother contributed to the family income by working in a bank. Bruce first encountered issues with a stutter while attending Penns Grove High School in his hometown. Soon he found a way to overcome this problem by participating in stage shows in front of large audiences. His sense of humor made him a popular kid in school. After graduating from high school Bruce worked in a chemical factory, as a security guard and also a private investigator before enrolling as a drama student at Montclair State University in New Jersey. Work didnt come easy to Bruce as he had to wait tables, tend bars while auditioning for roles. He got his first break in 1977 in the off-Broadway play Heaven and Earth. In 1980, Bruce landed a role in Frank Sinatras The First Deadly Sin.
