Chris Buck is an American director and animator. The first film he watched in a movie theatre was Pinocchio (1940), which ignited his desire to get into the film animation industry. Which is why, after finishing his studies in character animation, Buck began working as an animator for Disney. He has worked on several world-renowned films like Pocahontas (1995), The Little Mermaid (1989), Frankenweenie (1984), and Tarzan (1999). He also co-directed Surf's Up (2007) which was nominated for the Oscar award for Best Animated Feature, and Frozen (2013) which won the same award. When accepting the award, Buck dedicated it to his son, Ryder, who had passed away in a road accident earlier that year. Buck's 2019 releases include the film's sequel, Frozen 2.
