Christopher Nolan is a world renowned Hollywood filmmaker considered by many as one of the greatest directors of the 21st century. Born in England, he made his first film Following (1998) in his birth country itself. His second feature film Memento (2000), which he shot in the US, brought Nolan a lot of critical acclaim for its non-linear storytelling. But what catapulted him to the top rung of Hollywood filmmakers in the 2000s were his Batman films Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012). He further solidified his reputation as a genius filmmaker with the sci-fi movies Inception (2010) and Interstellar (2014).
He has frequently collaborated with his brother Jonathan Nolan, who has worked mainly as a screenwriter, and wife Emma Thomas, who has been a co-producer in his every film.
