The winner of the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series, Claire Elizabeth Foy is an English TV, film and theater actress who is best known for playing the role of Anne Boleyn in Wolf Hall (2015), a TV series which was broadcast on BBC 2. The actress who studied drama and screen studies at the Liverpool John Moores University and trained at the Oxford School of Drama made her professional stage debut at the Royal National Theatre where she played the titular role in the BBC One production of Little Dorrit (2008).
After working as a theater artist for a brief period, Foy moved to work in the TV industry and made her debut on the small screen with Being Human (2008), where she starred in the pilot episode. Her other notable small screen appearances include Terry Pratchett's Going Postal (2010), White Heat (2012), Wolf Hall (2015) and The Crown (2016). Apart from TV, Foy has also worked in several movies, having made her silver screen debut with Season of the Witch in 2011, over the years she has starred in films like Rosewater (2014), The Lady in the Van (2015), and Breathe (2017), a biographical drama directed by Andy Serkis.
