Cliff Martinez is an American musician, composer, drummer and a former member of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. A winner of the Best Composer Award at the Cannes Film Festival, Martinez made his debut as a film composer with the 1989 drama Sex, Lies, and Videotape. Since then, he has scored the music for several films and television shows, notable among which are Kafka (1991), Traffic (2000), Drive (2011), Only God Forgives (2013), The Neon Demon (2016) and Rough Night (2017). Significant television credits include Pee-wees Playhouse, Knick and The Normal Heart.
