Sir Derek George Jacobi is an English actor and stage director. His debut film was Othello (1965). Derek starred in Interlude (1968), Three Sisters (1970), Blue Blood (1973) and Richard II (1978). He was critically acclaimed for his roles in Hamlet (1980), Inside The Third Reich (1982), Enigma (1983) and Little Dorrit (1988). Derek worked in psychological thriller Dead Again (1991), British historical drama Basil (1998), epic historical drama Gladiator (2000) and mystery film Gosford Park (2001). He starred in commercially successful films including Nanny McPhee (2005), Underworld: Evolution (2006), The Riddle (2007) and The Golden Compass (2007). Derek's most recent films were The King's Speech (2010), My Week With Marilyn (2011) and Effie (2013). He will soon be seen in Cinderella, slated to release in March 2015.
