Kambeyanda Devaiah Gulshan, better known by his screen name, Gulshan Devaiah is an Indian film actor who primarily works in Bollywood films. The actor is known to portray dark and eccentric roles with elan and some of his best performances are in Shaitan, Hate Story, and Hunterrr. His role in Shaitan, also featuring Kalki Koechlin, Rajit Kapur, Neil Bhoopalam, Rajeev Khandelwal and Kirti Kulhari won him critical acclaim and he was nominated at the 2012 Filmfare Awards in Best Male Debut category.
EARLY LIFE
Born on 28th May 1978, in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, Devaiah is the son of Sri Devaiah and Pushpalata. The Shaitaan actor completed his primary education from Cluny Convent and later went to St Joseph Indian High School. After completing his graduation from NIFT, Gulshan Devaiah worked in the fashion industry for about 10 years. He even taught about Fashion at Wigan & Leigh College in Bangalore. The actor's parents noticed his passion and obsession towards drama at a very young age and encouraged him to pursue his passion. Prior to acting in Bollywood, Devaiah used to appear in small roles in various English theaters in Bangalore. After performing in several dramas he came to Mumbai to pursue a career in Bollywood.

Gulshan Devaiah is married to actress Kallirroi Tziafeta who hails from Greece.
ACTING CAREER
Devaiah began his acting career with Anurag Kashyap's, thriller film That Girl in Yellow Boots, which also featured, Kalki Koechlin, Naseeruddin Shah. The movie was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival; his role as Chitiappa, a local gangster was much appreciated by critics. His next film was Rohan Sippy's crime thriller, Dum Maaro Dum that released in 2011. The film, which highlights the operations of the drug cartel in Goa has Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Rana Daggubati and Prateik Babbar in pivotal roles. Although the film was an above average hit, Devaiah's role as Ricky was much appreciated by both audience and the critics.
In the same year, Devaiah featured in Bejoy Nambiar's thriller film, Shaitan, which also stars, Kalki Koechlin, Rajeev Khandelwal, and Shiv Pandit. His role as 'KC' (Karan Chaudhary) was critically acclaimed and it also won him several award nominations at Filmfare Awards, Stardust Awards, Screen Awards, Apsara Film, and Television Producers Guild Awards in the Best Actor in a Supporting Role and Best Male Debut Categories.
Devaiah continued his good run in the industry with yet another hit, Hate Story. The movie produced by Vikram Bhatt and directed by Vivek Agnihotri released in 2012 and it was Devaiah's first role as a lead actor. Devaiah essayed the role of an arrogant son of a rich businessman, Siddharth Dhanrajgir, and the movie went to become a sleeper hit and it garnered great positive reviews from the critics. His next release in the same year, Peddlers, alongside Nimrat Kaur was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and it got mixed critical reviews.
In 2013, Devaiah appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's romantic-tragedy film, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. The movie where Devaiah played the role of Bhavani, a crook who tries to become the supreme leader of the Rajadi clan was a blockbuster hit. The film also features Richa Chadda, Supriya Pathak, Abhimanyu Singh and Barkha Bisht Sengupta in supporting roles. After a gap of one year, in 2015, the actor appeared in Harshvardhan G. Kulkarni's adult comedy Hunterrr, co-starring Radhika Apte, Sai Tamhankar, and Vaibbhav Tatwawdi. The movie describes the life of Mandar Phonkshe, a sex-addict guy, played by Devaiah did well at the box-office and the actor received great praises from the critics.
Devaiah's 2016 projects include Junooniyant, which has Yami Gautam and Pulkit Samrat in the lead role. A Death In the Gunj, which is the directorial debut for Konkona Sen Sharma; Cabaret, which is produced by Pooja Bhatt and CandyFlip, which is directed by Shanawaz NK. His 2019 release includes Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota.
