Jack Huston is a British TV, movie, and theater actor. He is best known for his roles on the television show Boardwalk Empire and the 2016 film Ben-Hur.
EARLY LIFE
Jack Huston was born on 7 December 1982 in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England. His father is actor-writer Walter Anthony Huston and his mother is Lady Margot Lavinia. His paternal grandfather John Huston was an Academy Award-winning film director and screenwriter. Jack Huston hails from a royal lineage. His maternal grandfather was Hugh Cholmondeley, 6th Marquess of Cholmondeley and his uncle is David Cholmondeley, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley. He is also a descendant of Robert Walpole, Great Britain's first ever Prime Minister and David Sassoon, the former treasurer of Baghdad and leader of the Jews in Bombay. Huston is distantly related to the Rothschild family, one of the wealthiest families in history.
Huston was interested in acting from a very early age. When he was around six years old, he played the lead role in his school play, Peter Pan. This encouraged him to pursue a career in acting and he was then enrolled into Hurtwood House, a drama institute.
PERSONAL LIFE
In the year 2011, Jack Huston and American model Shannan Click began dating. The two had their first child, a girl who they named Sage Lavinia Huston, in April 2013. In January 2016, the couple had a son, who they called Cypress Night Huston.
MOVIE CAREER
Jack Huston began his career, playing Flavius in the small screen adaptation of the film Spartacus. The actor was then seen in movies like Factory Girl (2006), the horror film Shrooms (2007), Outlander (2008), the Kevin Spacey-starrer Shrink (2009), and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010). He then played a small role in Wild Salome (2011), a documentary drama directed by Al Pacino. In 2012, the actor played a leading role in the drama film Not Fade Away and the comedy-drama Two Jacks. After playing a minor role in David O. Russell's Oscar-nominated black comedy-drama American Hustle (2013), Huston acted in the romantic drama The Longest Ride (2015).
In September 2014, Jack Huston was announced as the leading actor on Timur Bekmambetov's Ben-Hur (2016), a remake of the Academy Award-winning 1959 film Ben-Hur, widely considered to be one of the greatest films of all time. Huston was selected to portray the role of the titular character Judah Ben-Hur, after initially being offered the role of his cruel brother. The actor's other 2016 releases include Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Their Finest, and The Yellow Birds, starring Jennifer Aniston.
TV CAREER
In 2010, the actor was seen in HBO's Emmy Award-winning periodic crime drama Boardwalk Empire. After appearing as a disfigured World War marksman turned gangster on five episodes in the first season, Huston was signed on as a regular cast member. Jack Huston has also acted in TV shows like Eastwick, Parade's End, and The Great Fire.
