Jake Kasdan is an American television and film producer, director and actor. He is the son of film personality, Lawrence Kasdan. His younger brother Jon is a writer as well as an actor. Jake is married to musician Inara George. He made his screen debut with The Big Chill (1983). Later, he appeared in Silverado (1985) and The Accidental Tourist (1988), before directing his first movie Zero Effect (1988), which was screened at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival. Apart from acting and directing films, Jake decided to foray into television. He directed his first show, Freaks and Geeks in 1999. Since then, Kasdan has been regularly directing films and TV shows. His best works on television include shows Californication (2007 - 2014) and New Girl (2011). Jake has directed six movies till date, with Walk Hard : The Dewey Cox Story (2007) and Bad Teacher (2011) being praised by the masses. His next film Sex Tape is set to hit theatres October, 2014. The film will see him re-unite with his Bad Teacher cast, actors Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel.
