A Canadian-American director, producer, and screenwriter, Jason Reitman a four-time Academy Awards nominee. Best known for directing films like Thank You for Smoking (2005), Juno (2007) and Young Adult (2011), Reitman also has a Grammy Award to his credit.
Having started his career as a filmmaker, he initially made many short films whilst he was studying creative writing at the University of Southern California. His journey in the mainstream commercial cinema industry began when he starred in the 1988 film Twins. Later, he appeared in films like Ghostbusters II (1989) and Dave (1993), before eventually making his directorial debut with Thank You for Smoking (2005). The movie won wide critical appreciation and won many awards including Toronto Film Critics Association Award for Best First Feature Film.
Following the huge success of his maiden film, Reitman delivered yet another blockbuster titled Juno in 2007. The film was a massive hit both critically and commercially and it also won many awards and recognition. With back to back successful movies, Reitman had already set high standards for himself and he has delivered several hit films including Up in the Air (2009), which also was highly critically acclaimed. For his brilliant work in the film, Reitman won many awards at various prestigious events and the film itself was showcased at several renowned and prestigious film festivals around the world. His 2018 release includes Tully, a comedy-drama starring Charlize Theron, Mackenzie Davis, Ron Livingston, and Mark Duplass.
