Born on 25th March 1982, Jenny Slate is an American film and television actress and writer, famous for her roles in Zootopia(2016), Obvious Child (2014) and The Lorax (2012).
Early Life Jenny Slate was born as Jenny Sarah Slate in Milton, Massachusetts, USA to Ron Slate, a poet and author, and Nancy, a ceramicist. She has two sisters named Abigail and Stacey. Slate graduated from Milton Academy and then did her majors from Colombia University in literature.
Personal LifeSlate married filmmaker Dean Fleischer-Camp in September 2012. Both had together worked on the animated short film Marcel The Shell With Shoes On. Directed and produced by Dean Fleischer-Camp, the movie was written by Jenny Slate. The couple parted ways after four of Marriage, early in 2016.
Movie CareerJenny Slate's big screen debut came with the musical comedy film Alvin & The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked in 2011, where she played Zoe. Even after being a commercial success, the film didn't do well critically. In 2012, Slate starred in This means War, a rom-com, and The Lorax, an animated musical film. Two years later, in 2014, she appeared as the lead in Obvious Child, co-starring Jake Lacy, Gaby Hoffman, and David Cross in pivotal roles. Directed by debutant, Gillian Robespierre, the movie opened to positive reviews worldwide and Slate took home numerous awards for her portrayal of Donna Stern.
