A multi-faceted talent with over two decades of experience in showbiz, John Ottman is a BAFTA Award-winning American film editor and Primetime Emmy Award-nominated composer. As an editor, he is primarily known for his collaborations with writer-director Bryan Singer, with whom he has worked in movies like The Usual Suspects (1995), Superman Returns (2006), Valkyrie (2008), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and Bohemian Rhapsody (2018). Of these, his work in the neo-noir mystery The Usual Suspects (1995) won Ottman the BAFTA Award for Best Editing in 1996.
As a composer, Ottman has scored the music for over 35 features. Notable among these are the superhero film X2 (2003), the neo-noir black comedy Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), Superman Returns (2006), the psychological horror film Orphan (2009), X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) and the neo-noir action comedy The Nice Guys (2016). In 2018, he composed the music of Bryan Singer's Hollywood biography musical drama Bohemian Rhapsody, starring Rami Malek and Gwilym Lee in lead roles.
