Born in the city of Karachi, Pakistan, on the 21st of February, 1978, Kumail Nanjiani is an Emmy Award-nominated, Hollywood stand-up comedian, actor and writer. Kumail was raised in a traditional Shia-Muslim family but later became an atheist. He completed his schooling from Karachi Grammar School. He moved to the United States at the age of 18 and enrolled in Grinnell College in Davenport, Iowa, from where he completed his graduation with a double majors in Computer Science and Philosophy. Kumail made his small screen debut by playing the role of an Indian reporter on Saturday Night Live. Kumail got his big break with 2012 movie The Five-Year Engagement, that starred Jason Segel. Kumail lent his voice for the 2013 video game The Walking Dead. In 2016, Kumail was seen in the movie Brother Nature, where he played the role of Riggleman. In 2017, he is seen in the comedy film Fist Fight, starring Ice Cube.
