Popularly known as the Queen of Sinhalese cinema, Malini Fonseka is a multiple award-winning Sri Lankan actress, and producer, who started her acting career with Tissa Liyansooriya's Punchi Baba in 1968. Fonseka, then appeared in acclaimed movies like Hingana Kolla (1979), Aradhana (1981), Yasa Isuru (1982), and Avurududa (1986). In the recent years, she has starred in films such as Ammawarune (2006), Uppalawanna (2007), Selvam (2011), and Sarigama (2016). In a career spanning nearly six decades, she has been a part of around 140 films. CNN listed Fonseka as one of Asia's 25 greatest movie actors of all time, in 2010.
