Marisa Tomei is a veteran American actress. She made her debut in the comedy film, The Flamingo Kid (1984), but it was her performance in the television show, A Different World, which proved to be a breakthrough in her career. Her spectacular performance in the film, My Cousin Vinny (1992), lead to her receiving an Academy Award. Riding on the success of My Cousin Vinny, she went on to act in a string of successful films like Chaplin (1992), What Women Want (2000), Someone Like You..(2001), The Wrestler (2008), The Lincoln Lawyer (2011) and Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011).
The year 2016 saw her film The Big Short nominated for 5 Academy Awards. She was also a part of the 2017 film Spider-Man: Homecoming where she played the role of Aunt May. As of 2018, she is a part of The First Purge and is also reprising her role as Aunt May for Spider-Man: Far From Home.
