Matthew Modine is an American actor. In the course of a career spanning over three decades, he has appeared in over 60 feature films and several television shows, mostly in supporting roles. He is best known for his roles in films like Full Metal Jacket (1987), Memphis Belle (1990), Transporter 2 (2005) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012); and television shows like What the Deaf Man Heard, And the Band Played On and Stranger Things. Modine has been nominated for the Golden Globes Awards twice, for his performance in the shows And the Band Played On and What the Deaf Man Heard. Other significant acting credits include Pacific Heights (1990), Short Cuts (1993), Lost in Love (2005), Altar (2014) and 47 Meters Down (2017).
