Matthew Vaughn is an English film producer, director and screenwriter. He began working as an assistant director after he took a break from university. At the age of 25, he produced the thriller, The Innocent Sleep (1995), followed by Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), for which he received a nomination for a BAFTA Award. Matthew made his directorial debut with the film Layer Cake (2004). He then went on to direct films like Stardust (2007) and Kick Ass (2010), which was nominated for several awards. Matthew also directed and penned the screenplay for the film X- Men: First Class (2011) and has also produced the film Kick Ass 2 (2013). He has recently wrote the screenplay for the film X- Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and has his next project Kingsman: The Secret Service, scheduled for release in February 2015.
