Michael Dougherty is an American writer, director and producer who is well-known for his work in Hollywood. He made his directorial debut with Trick 'r Treat (2007) and is also known for his work on Bryan singer's scripts for X2 (2005) and Superman Returns (2006). Apart from this he is credited with directing the horror film Krampus (2015) and also co-wrote the script for X-Men: Apocalypse (2016). As of 2019, Dougherty has written as well as directed the Godzilla sequel, Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019).
