Michael Mitnick is an American playwright. Before his career in theatre took off, Mitnick graduated from Harvard, worked at The Atlantic Monthly, and then earned a Master of Fine Arts in playwriting from Yale. Throughout his career, he has written several plays that have won him awards including the 2012 Visionary Playwright Award and the Edgerton New American Foundation Award. He wrote his first screenplay in 2014 for The Giver. His 2019 releases include The Current War, his first feature film as an executive producer.
