Olivia Williams is an English film, television and stage actress. She started out in theatre, working with the renowned Royal Shakespeare Company in her early years and subsequently making her first appearance before camera in 1992, in the television series Van der Valk. Since her feature film debut in 1997, Williams has appeared in leading and supporting roles in close to 40 films, with her roles in films like The Heart of Me (2002) and The Ghost Writer (2010) winning her accolades and critical acclaim. She has also appeared in popular television shows like Friends, Dollhouse and Manhattan. Other significant acting credits include Rushmore (1998), The Sixth Sense (1999), Anna Karenina (2012) and the 2017 biographical comedy-drama film Victoria and Abdul. For her performance in The Heart of Me, Williams won the British Independent Film Award for Best Actress in 2003.
