Orlando Jonathan Blanchard Bloom (1977 till present) is an English actor, producer, theatre artist and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. He has appeared in various epic fantasy, historical epic, and fantasy adventure films. His role as Legolas in the The Lord of the Rings Trilogy rose him to prominence. Directed by Peter Jackson and based on the book of J.R.R. Tolkien, Orlandos character is an elf, an unrivalled archer and a dangerous warrior in the movie. In Pirates of the Caribbean series, his character as Will Turner is a blacksmith's apprentice who fights with Jack Sparrow, the notorious pirate dauntlessly. Bloom had also played a brief role in Ridley Scotts, Black Hawk Dawn. In the same year, he was seen as a leading man in Elizabethtown, a romantic tragicomedy directed by Cameron Crowe. Blooms character as Drew Baylor is an intelligent young man and designer for a shoe company. In 2008, he was seen as David Cooler in ensemble film, New York, I Love You. In another ensemble film, Main Street (2010), he played the role of Harris Parker. In 2011, he was seen as Duke of Buckingham in The Three Musketeers directed by Paul W. S. Anderson.

He made his stage debut with the play, In Celebration (1969) by English writer, David Storey at the Duke of York's Theatre in London in 2007.
