Eminent Tamil author and screenwriter Pattukottai Prabhakar's vast repertoire in literature and cinema includes several best-selling novels and short story collections; and a number of hit movies. As a novelist, he is best known for penning books in the crime-thriller genre, and creating the iconic detective duo of Bharath and Suseela. Some of Prabhakar's writings are part of the academic syllabus in Tamil Nadu, while the book Irandu Vari Kaviyam remains his most celebrated non-fiction work till date.
The prolific writer is also a popular name in Tamil cinema and television, having served as a dialogue writer in movies like Bagavathi (2002), Jayam Kondaan (2008) and Kanden Kadhalai (2009); and tv shows like Kanavugal Ilavasam, Paramapadham and Varam.
Besides these, Prabhakar has penned the screenplay for the action film Kaaki Sattai (2015) and the thriller Imaikkaa Nodigal (2018), which starred Nayanthara, Anurag Kashyap and Atharvaa Murali in main roles. Among the writer's other significant works in recent times is the K.V. Anand directorial starring Suriya and Mohanlal in the lead roles.
