The ruling superstar of the '80s, Ravindra Mahajani is well known for his contribution to the Marathi film industry. In his early days, he was touted as the 'Vinod Khanna of the Marathi films' as he resembled late actor Vinod Khanna. He is popularly known for his movies like Mumbaicha Faujdar (1984), Zoonj (1989), and Gondhalat Gondhal (1982). In 2015, he acted in two Marathi films that include Carry On Maratha and Kaay Raav Tumhi, a comedy movie inspired by Basu Chatterjee's classic Shaukeen (1982). In 2019, he featured in Bollywood film Panipat, a historical period drama which is directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar.
